I want to let you know about this awesome Sauvignon Blanc that I've found... it's called Kono, Wine of New Zealand. If you like Sauv Blancs, and you like them from the New Zealand region - you are going to LOVE this wine!
It is so fresh, crisp and delicious - I'm willing to bet that you will write me a personal thank you note for turning you on to it! Typically in the winter, you can easily find ourself drowning in a sea of red wines... this season I'm going with white! I am especially fond of this particular brand and bottle...
I tried this wine for the first time on a whim, honestly - because the bottle is appealing... it's a slightly greenish tinted glass and the label is bright white - it just screamed "PICK ME", and secondly because the price was right! I found this bottle for just under $10. The first sip was such a nice surprise... the hint of the citrus we all know and love from our New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs was far from overwhelming, and this wine has a superb crip, light taste... I had my glass (or two) with a few ice cubes and it was a delightful, refreshing break... I couldn't wait to hit the ground running in search of this wine at my local wine shop.
I have since then, searched for this wine, found it (yay!), and discovered that it's averaging $10 a bottle... and I can barely keep up with stocking it in the apartment - everyone loves it! I highly recommend picking up a bottle or two and giving it a try - it's easy on the wallet, it's a very pretty bottle so it looks GREAT on the table and on the shelf, and if you like Sauvignon Blanc's, I honestly believe that this one will become an instant favorite of yours. It's certainly a new favorite of mine.
Cheers!
